Shaktiman launches new innovative agri-machines at EIMA

India’s largest manufacturer of agricultural equipment will use this year’s EIMA International 2024 exhibition happening in Bologna, Italy to signal its commitment to the worldwide market and its support for farmers, with its unique machinery offering and new product launches.

Making full use of having its own stand at the exhibition for the first time, Shaktiman will showcase a wide range of the latest agricultural machines – including balers, mowers, feed mixers, and tillage equipment – to demonstrate the breadth of its portfolio and the quality of its comprehensive farming solutions for farmers.

“Shaktiman’s success in the domestic market, where we’ve worked hard to secure more than 50% of the share, is because we were farmers first and we understand the requirement of the farmers,” says Ashwin Gohil, chairman of Shaktiman.

“That put us in a position to understand the needs of the individual farmer and gave us the ability to develop technologically advanced machinery solutions that are efficient, viable and highly effective.”

Shaktiman says the success of the strategy is clear: the company has launched several new products in the last five years, and its ambitious product development pipeline now includes a wide range of innovative solutions for the agricultural sector.

Among the new products making their debut at EIMA exhibition are the Variable chamber round baler and a Twin-rotor hay rake. Both are aimed at farmers looking to benefit from modern technologies in the European market as well as in other countries.

The Vertical feed mixer, another EIMA launch, is similarly designed. Supporting all the features of larger machines, such as a fully electronic weigh scale, a hydraulic feeding gate, and a heavy-duty planetary gearbox, the Shaktiman Vertical feed mixer has a capacity of 2.5 cubic meters.

“Smaller-scale farmers are vital to European economic, environmental and social cohesion,” says Mr. Gohil. “All too often they’re the ones who ‘miss out’ on new technologies, yet they’re the ones who can – in many ways – benefit most from machinery that promises labor savings, increases in efficiency, or much-needed improvements in safety.

“The Vertical feed mixer is a prime example of how we can bring technological advances to trickle down to provide solutions that benefit everyone,” enthuses Mr. Gohil.

Mr. Gohil says that the other new products include a 6-meters-wide folding flail mower and arm-flail mowers, available in both light- and heavy-duty versions. All 14 products that Shaktiman is bringing to EIMA have been chosen not only because they characterize the different application areas in which it operates, but also because they’re key products for European farmers and their particular operations.

“EIMA is one of the largest and most influential exhibitions in the agricultural machinery calendar. We’re looking forward to engaging with potential customers and partners.”

The Shaktiman stand is located in Hall 28, Stand A1. Visitors to the stand will have the opportunity to take away attractive merchandise and gifts.

10.31.2024

L.S. GOHIL LEARNING ACADEMY

Shaktiman always emphasizes the importance of learning and development, the opening of new Learning and Development Academy in Rajkot, Gujarat, India, is one more milestone in this direction.

Shaktiman, India’s largest manufacturer of agricultural equipment, has launched an ambitious new learning and development academy to help support business growth and organizational excellence, and to act as a beacon of good practice in India’s agricultural manufacturing sector.

The L.S. Gohil Learning Academy, named to honor the company’s founder, will eventually cater to the learning and development needs of the organization, not just for employees but especially for all stakeholders, including farmers, dealers, customers, and technicians.

Since its opening on 2nd March 2024, the academy has already initiated various learning and development initiatives, and more than 1000 participants benefited from various learning events.

“Learning and development is a critical function in every business,” says Mr. Ashwin Gohil, Chairman of Shaktiman, “regardless of industry, size or business model.

“With the L.S. Gohil Learning Academy, we are applying that philosophy to reach all corners of our organization, helping employees to advance their own personal development and performance, while aligning their goals with those of the company.”

The Academy’s vision is Transformation through learning and development – seeks to meet the needs of all stakeholders in their combined pursuit to deliver the most technologically advanced agricultural implements.

“This is about building and retaining a workforce that’s capable of delivering our business goals,” says Mr. Gohil.

“With an academy of this nature, we can develop new learning experiences to achieve Shaktiman’s long-term objectives of outstanding quality and excellent service leading to productive, sustainable agricultural practices.

“Simultaneously, those learning experiences can also be personalized and relevant. By recognizing the talent and potential that lies within every one of our employees, partners, and stakeholders, we can grow both the individual and the organization.”

Among the initiatives the Academy is developing job-specific learning and development programs, focusing on knowledge and skills. Certification programs are also developed to enhance education levels for operators, drivers and technicians.

Housed in a purpose-built facility at Shaktiman’s headquarters in Rajkot, Gujarat, the academy includes specific training centers for skill development, product and service development, service practice, product application training, classrooms for training, an auditorium and a library.

SHAKTIMAN SHOWS OFF ITS STRENGTHS AT AGRITECHNICA ASIA

SHAKTIMAN SHOWS OFF ITS STRENGTHS AT AGRITECHNICA ASIA

India’s largest agricultural machinery manufacturer shows off its strengths at Agritechnica Asia and strengthens dealer ties in Thailand.

Making an impressionable appearance in the 2024 edition, Shaktiman placed its Mobile Shredder and Fighter rotary tiller center stage at Bangkok’s Agritechnica Asia, demonstrating the strength of the product development pipeline from India’s largest manufacturer of agricultural machinery and equipment.

Needing just 40 horse power to operate, the Mobile Shredder – a dual-purpose trailed shredder – can be used either as a fodder harvester, with a throughput of up to 8 tons per hour, or as a field clearance aid post-harvest, particularly for stalky row crops such as cotton, castor and maize.

“The Mobile Shredder is a prime example of Shaktiman’s approach to simple but effective machinery for fast cutting and shredding of forage,” says Abhishek Malaviya, International Sales Manager for Shaktiman.

“It’s been designed to make farming easier. So it has a foldable frame to make transportation easier, an inbuilt sharpener to avoid the need to remove blades, and a carefully specced cardan shaft to avoid power loss through the transmission, maintaining the ability to use the farming equipment with all but the very smallest tractors. A trolley hitch behind the main frame makes it simple to collect the shredded material, or it can be left in the field.

“It’s a farming equipment we expect to generate significant interest here in Thailand,” he notes.

A reminder of just how far Shaktiman has progressed was the presence on the stand of its Fighter range of rotary tillers. A rotary tiller was Shaktiman’s very first product in 1997; the latest Fighter model is expected to attract attention from Thailand’s rice farmers, thanks to its compact and lightweight build.

“With the four-model range weighing between 255 and 325kg, this is an incredibly lightweight machine that places smaller loads on the tractor, reducing the risk of sinking and soil compaction,” explains Abhishek.

“The entry model, with a working width of 1250mm, requires no more than 25hp. Even the FT-185, with its 1805 mm width, can be successfully powered by a 35hp tractor. This really is an accessible range, with very simple mechanics to keep power requirements low and maintenance demands at a minimum.”

But there is another Shaktiman product that has generated a considerable volume of inquiries among Agritechnica Asia attendees, and that is the company’s highly successful sugarcane harvester. The SSCH-3737, powered by a six-cylinder, 173hp turbocharged Cummins diesel unit driving an 1100mm topper, and boasting an advanced telemetric system, auto-cleaning and ‘glass cockpit’ to improve operator monitoring, is emblematic of the rapid progress made by the company in building a modern portfolio of quality machinery to cover every stage of the crop cycle.

“The SSCH-3737 is just one of the 107 new products we’ve launched in the last five years,” says Mr. Ashwin Gohil, Chairman of Shaktiman.

“Our extremely wide and diverse portfolio helped Shaktiman secure more than 50% of the domestic market in India, thanks to a relentless emphasis on understanding the needs of the farmer,” he adds.

Mr. Gohil says by focusing on those needs in product development, Shaktiman has curated a product offering that provides accessible farming solutions not just in India, but to farmers across the globe as the company brings its products to new customers in other regions and countries.

Agritechnica Asia also provided a valuable opportunity to highlight and strengthen the relationship Shaktiman has with its long-term dealer, Chokchai Agricultural Machinery. Established in 2001, CAM has been handling Shaktiman’s sales and servicing across Thailand for more than 7 years.

Shaktiman was one of 353 exhibitors from 28 countries taking part in Agritechnica Asia 2024. Held every two years in Bangkok, the 2024 event set new attendance records with more than 12,000 visitors, an increase of 35 percent since the previous exhibition. The statistics confirm Agritechnica Asia 2024 as the leading Asia Pacific exhibition for crop production and smart farming.
