Shaktiman Wraps Up Successful U.S. Debut at Sunbelt Ag Expo

Rajkot, Gujarat – 12 November. India’s largest manufacturer of agricultural machinery, Shaktiman, completed a successful debut at the Sunbelt Ag Expo, the show renowned for showcasing agricultural technology, research and equipment.

Shaktiman showcased its latest machines at the event, known as ‘North America’s Premier Farm Show’, demonstrating its commitment to innovation and grower support, as well as the breadth of its portfolio and the quality of its range.

“Sunbelt Ag Expo provided an excellent platform for Shaktiman to connect with farmers, distributors and industry stakeholders throughout the North American market,” says Ashwin Gohil, chairman of Shaktiman.

“Not only is it one of the largest ag trade shows in North America, it’s also well-known for its track record in featuring the latest advances in agricultural technology. That is why we decided to attend.

“With daily attendance averaging between 200 and 250 visitors, Shaktiman’s booth drew substantial interest from U.S. farmers, distributors, and industry stakeholders eager to learn more about the brand’s offerings. This has been for us a perfect opportunity.”

Most visitors praised the build quality and paint quality of Shaktiman equipment, emphasizing the products’ durability and robust design. Additionally, the simplicity of Shaktiman machines—featuring minimal electronics—was well received by farmers, who appreciated the ease of use and reduced complexity in operation.

Mr. Gohil says the company’s success in India comes from listening to farmers to understand the needs of the individual. “We were farmers first, and that’s given us the ability to develop technologically advanced machinery solutions that are efficient, viable and highly effective.

“That unique market insight can then be developed into workable, winning solutions by our internal teams: R&D, production, and sales, matched by dedicated customer service and aftermarket support,” says Mr. Gohil.

Shaktiman says the strategy has worked: the company has launched several new products in the last five years. Its ambitious product development pipeline now includes a wide range of innovative solutions for the agricultural sector.

“Exhibiting at Sunbelt was a unique opportunity for us to gain additional insights into the present and future of the U.S.A.’s farming industry, explains Mr. Gohil. “Thus equipped, we can ensure our products reflect and exceed these needs, ensuring we can provide U.S. farmers with ‘human-centric’ focused offerings and appropriate solutions, just as we have done at home in India.”

Shaktiman displayed several key products, including the Round Baler SRB 120, Square Baler SBM 175, and three models of its versatile slasher lineup: SGMF, SGPF, and SRS. Each of these machines demonstrates Shaktiman’s commitment to delivering machinery that meets the needs of both large and small farming operations.

Rajkot (Gujarat, India), 03 September 2024 – A thorough understanding of soil structure should be the most important learning for an agricultural engineer in the 21st century, claimed India’s largest manufacturer of agricultural equipment as it welcomed the first entrants to its purpose-built training academy.

Established to emphasize the importance of skill development, Shaktiman’s L.S. Gohil Learning Academy formally threw open its doors last month to its first class of Graduate Engineering Trainees (GETs).

“An agricultural engineer provides farmers with solutions,” says [INSERT NAME AND TITLE], “but if we – as a company – are going to succeed in our ambition to deliver the most technologically advanced agricultural implements, then our engineers must first understand why the engineering decisions they make will be influenced by the need to protect and nurture our soils.

“Soil is the single most important resource for agriculture. Without a thorough understanding of soil, we can’t expect our engineers to develop the technological breakthroughs that will keep agriculture productive yet sustainable.”

Twenty GETs attended the inaugural ANKUR Training Program, held between Aug 6 and Aug 31, 2024. In addition to soil structure, participants were also formally inducted into the Shaktiman company, with modules on company history, progress and future goals.

Making use of the purpose-built facilities of the Academy, the 20 new engineers also took part in a comprehensive program of product training and got to grips with the full range of Shaktiman implements and machines.

Following the three-week training program, graduates were formally allocated to their company departments. In post, they’ll continue to benefit from the Learning Academy with further personal and performance development as they progress through their careers with Shaktiman.
